Katsuura-should start tour earlier because it is very hot on late start. Would have liked to go to the early morning fish market if it was offered. Very good stop in Takayama.

Gero Onsen, we were not given Japanese style room. Arrived at hotel late and went directly to dinner (no rest time). Only 1 person at reception(we waited 25 min. to drop off our luggage). Good Onsen at Hirayukan.

Guides should be told in advance, if possible of dinner menu, so it can be explained to us instead of asking waiter at each dinner. Good dinner and especially breakfast at Hirayukan. La VIsta Kusatsu Hills had a good selection of items for breakfast. We noticed that the variety and quantity of food was less than the other 2 onsen tours (kaiseki dinners)

Guide gave a very good history talk and walk through the government building in Takayama. Enjoyed both guides. They both were very concerning about taking care of us throughout the tour.

We liked it when we were seated in the last row in the car of the train. No one behind us and easy to get on and off the train that way. When purchasing train tickets: Please take consideration on the side of the train we are seated on because certain sides of the train has better views.
