This tour offered a wide variety of places and experiences ranging from busy shopping districts and quiet religious sites to eye-popping tower views. The final day trip to Hakone showed the scenic mountain and lakeside routes. The only downside was the long return trip to Tokyo with the crowds in the heat and humidity. When we sat down for the Sayonara dinner in Asakusa, our energy was restored.
Lodging
The Dormy Inn across from the historic amusement park was quite convenient near the Senso-ji area. Some guests might be put off by the screams from the park patrons to the north, or the carousing from Hoppy Street diners to the south. However, the lively atmosphere made this Asakusa district a fun place. I think the local shops, restaurants and cultural attractions are the best draw. Breakfast at the Dormy Inn offered a good variety in a well-lit restaurant by the lobby.

Guides
The meeting service and guides are very familiar with the locations. I enjoyed hearing about their past studies and careers. On the optional Shibuya trip, our guide even showed us his neighbourhood mall by the tram.
