A great contrast after the Best of Japan tour. Far less crowds, more rural, fantastic scenery, great people.

Wonderful! Typically a good balance of simple lunches such as ramen or curry while touring and then an excellent buffet or kaiseki dinner at the ryokan.

Mike was our guide/driver for all but the last day. I enjoyed his relaxed style, his obvious passion for Japan and his flexibility with the tour. I particularly liked having meals with him as he could explain the dishes in detail and guide us in how to eat/mix some ingredients. Thank you Mike!Hiroko was interesting and very helpful sending us details of which platform to use at the station.
